Located on the edge of Royal Park, the townhouse development at 11 St Georges Grove, Parkville responds directly to its unique landscape setting, where mature River Red Gums and expansive parkland define the character of the site. The landscape design establishes a strong connection between architecture and environment, softening the built form within a richly planted setting that reflects the natural ecology of the adjoining parklands.

A layered palette of native planting creates privacy, habitat and seasonal texture while reinforcing the project’s sustainable design principles. Carefully integrated planting zones and green buffers frame pedestrian movement, enhance streetscape amenity and allow the development to visually recede into the surrounding landscape. The design balances sculptural architectural forms with softer vegetation, creating a refined transition between public and private realms.

Material selections throughout the landscape respond to the tones and textures of the adjacent gum trees, with natural timber elements, permeable surfaces and integrated garden beds contributing to a cohesive and environmentally responsive outcome. The result is a contemporary residential environment that prioritises liveability, connection to nature and a strong sense of place, while enhancing the established landscape character of Parkville.
