Located within the evolving urban fabric of Armadale, the landscape design for 3–5 Railway Avenue responds to the project’s contemporary townhouse architecture with a restrained yet richly layered planting approach. Designed in collaboration with Fieldwork Architects, the landscape strategy softens the built form through a combination of structured planting, raised planters and integrated communal green spaces that enhance both privacy and amenity.

The development comprises six multi-level townhouses arranged along a narrow laneway, with carefully designed landscaped interfaces that create a sense of arrival and connection to the street. Planting was selected to provide seasonal variation, textural contrast and year-round resilience, while also reinforcing the architectural rhythm of the façade. Deep green evergreen species, layered understory planting and integrated planter beds contribute to a calm, garden-focused character within a dense urban setting.

A combination of bluestone paving, timber detailing and finely scaled soft landscaping creates warm, pedestrian-focused outdoor spaces that extend the living experience beyond the interior. The landscape outcome balances functionality with softness, delivering a contemporary residential environment that feels private, generous and distinctly connected to its Armadale context.
