MEMLA Landscape Architects were engaged by Capital Transport to design a cohesive landscape for the commercial development at 75–85 Nantilla Road, Clayton, with a strong focus on activated rooftop environments. The project integrates ground, podium and roof terrace landscapes, transforming underutilised upper levels into functional, green communal spaces.

The roof terraces are defined by a rich and diverse planting scheme, combining trees, shrubs and groundcovers to create layered, resilient landscapes suited to elevated conditions. Deep planting zones support canopy trees, while lightweight soil systems and integrated irrigation ensure long-term plant health. Generous garden beds are paired with seating, decking and open areas to encourage staff use and informal gathering.

Careful coordination of drainage, structure and services enables these rooftop landscapes to perform both technically and visually. The result is a series of elevated green spaces that enhance amenity, contribute to urban greening and provide a high-quality outdoor experience within a commercial setting.
